THE IMPORTANCE OF KEEPING RETAINERS, ALIGNERS AND NIGHT GUARDS CLEAN

Brushing your teeth regularly will help keep them healthy and keep bacteria away. However, it is just as important to clean your retainer, aligner or night guard daily too.

WHAT ARE BACTERIA AND WHAT DO THEY DO?

Bacteria are invisible to the human eye but live everywhere including inside your mouth and on your skin. Your mouth naturally contains hundreds of different types of bacteria. However, if too much bacteria builds up, it can cause problems including cavities and bad breath.

WHY BACTERIA ACCUMULATE ON RETAINERS, ALIGNERS AND NIGHT GUARDS

If you do not clean your retainer, aligner or night guard daily it is an ideal place for bacteria to multiply and grow.

CAN BACTERIA IMPACT MY ORAL HEALTH?

If bacteria are not regularly removed from your teeth and removable dental appliance, they can impact your oral health, leading to problems like bad breath.
